Global Health Insurance Premiums and Payment Options

CCW Global can provide highly competitive global health insurance premiums and payment options.

Our many years of experience in the International Health Insurance industry, and our extensive relationships with the world’s leading International Insurance Providers means that we are able to offer a range of premiums suitable to all budgets and situations. In some cases we can even provide premium discounts which are unavailable to any other intermediaries, brokers, or agents currently providing expat medical insurance on a worldwide basis.

Global Health Insurance Premiums

The Global Medical Insurance policies available through CCW Global Insurance will usually calculate their premiums on a community basis. This means that, unlike “experience” rated health insurance your claims and treatment history whilst on the plan will not impact your premium; leaving you free to receive as much medical treatment as you may need, secure in the knowledge that you will not pay a higher premium because you have received necessary health care.

The main influences in calculating the premium of your policy will normally be:

•    The Applicants Age
•    The Plan’s Coverage Area
•    The Plan’s Coverage Benefits

Your age will be the major factor on your policy premium. This is because people become more prone to developing a severe medical condition as they age, and means that as you get older you will represent more “risk” to the insurance company. As such, as you get older your global health insurance premium will go up. However, it is important to note that your premium will only increase as you age and not because you have made a claim under the policy.

The second factor which will have an impact on your premium is the plan’s coverage area. Different countries around the world will have different average costs of healthcare. Choosing to include a high cost country in your plan’s coverage, such as the USA or Hong Kong, can mean that you will pay a higher policy premium than if you had elected to exclude those geographical areas from the plan.

The final aspect of your premium calculation will normally be in relation to the coverage being offered under the global health insurance plan you have selected. A basic Inpatient Only Health Insurance Policy will usually be less expensive than a more comprehensive plan which includes coverage for Inpatient, Outpatient, and Maternity, for example.

Community Ratings of Global Health Insurance Premiums

As mentioned above most of the Global Health Insurance policies available through CCW are community rated. This means that when you take out an international medical insurance plan with us that you will always pay the same premium as every other person of the same age, in the same coverage area, with the same plan.

Because of this, your premium will only increase as you age and as the cost of global healthcare (also known as medical inflation) increases. You will never pay a higher premium under a global medical insurance policy because you made a claim or received healthcare treatment under the plan.

Global Health Insurance Payment Options

When you purchase a global health insurance plan through CCW Global you will be given a range of options for the payment of your policy premium.

Payment Currency

You can normally pay for your global health insurance plan in most major currencies. We will typically accept premium payments made in USD, EUR, GBP, RMB, HKD, and even CHF.

Payment Frequency

You will also be afforded the option of choosing the frequency of your premium payments. You are able to choose between paying for your coverage Monthly, Quarterly, Semi-Annually, or Annually. This enables you to ensure that your global health insurance plan is not a drain on your resources and allows you to select the payment frequency which is most suitable for your specific situation

Payment Types

Once you have selected your currency and payment frequency, you will then be allowed to choose how you will be paying for your coverage. CCW can process global health insurance payments which are made by Cash, Credit Card, Cheque, or Bank Transfer.

Please note that choosing to pay for your global health insurance by credit card will usually incur a surcharge of between 4 to 6 percent of the annual premium.
